Humans of Shuttle Time: Aisarova Jasmin

Humans of Shuttle Time: Aisarova Jasmin

This is the 51st story in our Humans of Shuttle Time series, in which we present the perspectives of those who are involved with badminton at the grassroots level. Aisarova Jasmin, Shuttle Time Tutor with Kyrgyzstan Badminton Federation, speaks about her journey in badminton.

Growing Up Years

I am a student. I was an active child and my parents sent me to sports clubs. Once, when I was playing volleyball, my coach (Niyazbekov Tatarbek) noticed me and suggested that I play badminton. After playing a couple of games, I just fell in love with this sport.

Early Impressions

This sport struck me with its dynamism and effectiveness. I realised it is an ideal sport that combines mental and physical activity.

I’m now playing hard, and at the same time training small children. As badminton is a fairly new sport in Kyrgyzstan, we have an acute shortage of coaches, and having good experience in the game, I became interested in coaching, as I want to educate a new generation of badminton players in Kyrgyzstan.

Memorable Moments

The first time I went abroad was for the Central Asian Championships, and I fell in love with badminton even more. I was struck by the skill of my rivals, but as it turned out, this is not the limit. My federation gave me the opportunity to participate at major tournaments and that gave me the motivation to move on and keep engaging in badminton.

Badminton is part of my life and with the support of my family, coach and the federation, I try to live up to their hopes and not lose faith in myself.

Shuttle Time

Shuttle Time is a unique programme that provides great development not only in badminton, but also to the general physical condition of children. It opens up enormous opportunities for children and teachers.
