Bahrain Para: Kim Jung Jun Bounces Back

Korean veteran Kim Jung Jun avenged his recent loss to Yu Sooyoung by beating his younger compatriot for the men’s singles Wheelchair (WH2) title at the Bahrain Para Badminton International 2025 on Sunday.

Kim had suffered a narrow loss the previous week in the final of the Dubai Para Badminton International, with the title slipping from his hands after he had two match points. On Sunday, Kim was able to shut out Yu in straight games, despite his compatriot nearly nicking the opening game after trailing throughout.

Korea continued to dominate the Wheelchair classes, with Park Haeseong (men’s singles WH1), Jung Gyeoul (women’s singles WH2), Park Haeseong/Yu Sooyoung (WH1-WH2), and Park/Jung (mixed doubles WH1-WH2) claiming titles.

Shin Kyung Hwan won the men’s singles Standing Lower (SL4) title as he was given a walkover in the final by India’s Sukant Kadam.

Lee Seunghu added to the country’s gold medal tally, winning the men’s singles SL3 title, beating India’s Jagdish Dilli 21-19 21-10.
