Nigeria dominated the Uganda Para Badminton International 2026, claiming six of the 10 competitive titles as African champion Chigozie Jeremiah Nnanna enjoyed a successful return to competition.
Playing his first tournament since reaching the semifinals of the BWF Para Badminton World Championships in Manama, Bahrain in February, Nnanna capture two gold medals. He teamed up with Chukwuebeka Sunday Eze to defeat compatriots Elijah Eneojo Agada/Obinna Precious Nwosu 21-13 21-18 in the SL3-SU5 men’s doubles final before overcoming Agada 21-7 21-17 to secure the SL4+SU5 men’s singles title.
Benin also celebrated a milestone as Amandine Morenike Oloukou secured the first international title of her career with a 21-15 21-17 victory over Uganda’s Sumin Mutesi in SL4+SU5 women’s singles.
The home crowd had plenty to cheer as Hassan Mubiru and Resty Nangobi Kalebe claimed the SL3-SU5 mixed doubles crown, while Brian Mugabe partnered Rwanda’s Jean D’Amour Ndahiro to win the WH1-WH2 men’s doubles title.
