From great cities to small communities, from young children to lifelong players, and for people of every ability, badminton brings us closer across cultures and generations. Badminton belongs to everyone. So, wherever you are, pick up a racket, enjoy a match and share it with someone new. Raise a racket for the sport we love.”
About World Badminton Day
The inaugural World Badminton Day was officially marked on 5 July 2022, commemorating the founding of the International Badminton Federation – now BWF – on 5 July 1934.
Celebrated annually, the day recognises this historic milestone while bringing people and communities together through fun, inclusive and innovative badminton activities around the world.
It offers a unique opportunity to showcase the sport’s many qualities and inspire everyone to ‘Raise a Racket’, encouraging friends, family and communities to get involved.
