BWF Independent Hearing Panel Hands Down Four-Year Suspension to Joachim Persson

BWF Independent Hearing Panel (IHP) has imposed a four-year suspension on all badminton-related activity on Denmark’s Joachim Persson.

The IHP found that Persson had breached the BWF Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions and the Judicial Procedures by betting on badminton and by failing to cooperate with the BWF’s investigation.

This is Persson’s second suspension. The decision was not appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The reasoned decision can be found on the BWF website.

Through its Integrity Unit, the BWF remains steadfast in its commitment to combating the risks associated with betting in badminton, providing a fair and secure environment for all athletes.
