Paris 2024 Paralympic champion Leani Ratri Oktila continued her form at her home event of Indonesia Para Badminton International 2024, acing all her three finals for the second year running.
The Para badminton legend, who with Hikmat Ramdani beat compatriots Fredy Setiawan/Khalimatus Sadiyah in the SL3-SU5 gold medal match in France three weeks ago, repeated the trick on Sunday in Surakarta against the same opponents, winning 21-12 21-10.
Oktila then combined with Sadiyah to rout fellow Indonesians Warining Rahayu/Qonitah Ikhtiar Syakuroh 21-8 21-6 and take the women’s doubles crown in the same class.
The 33-year-old mother of one capped her day with a 21-12 21-12 victory over Rahayu in the SU5 women’s singles final.
Oktila’s treble accounted for 30 per cent of the host nation’s 10 gold medals, five more than second-placed India. Korea won four events, with veteran Kim Jung Jun contributing two (WH2 men’s singles, WH1-WH2 men’s doubles).
