New Zealand’s Oliver Leydon-Davis gave himself a shot at two titles in the X-TRM Oceania Championships 2015 today.

Leydon-Davis (featured image) and Danielle Tahuri overcame Australia’s Matthew Chau/Gronya Somerville in the Mixed Doubles semi-finals before Leydon-Davis combined with Kevin James Dennerly-Minturn to outclass Anthony Joe/Pit Seng Low (Australia) in the Men’s Doubles semi-finals.

Leydon-Davis/Danielle Tahuri take on second seeds Robin Middleton (below)/Leanne Choo (Australia) in the final tomorrow. The Australians earned a comfortable win over compatriots Michael Fariman/Talia Saunders, 21-13 21-16.

The Men’s Doubles final will see Leydon-Davis and Dennerly-Minturn (above) face second seeds Matthew Chau/Sawan Serasinghe (Australia) who had it rather easy over New Zealand’s Maoni Hu He/Kent Palmer.

Young Men’s Singles prospect Daniel Guda (below), seeded 4, upset his higher seeded Australian compatriot Michael Fariman (2). Guda needed half-an-hour to get past Fariman, 21-15 21-12, and will take on New Zealand’s Luke Charlesworth, who beat Ashwant Gobinathan (Australia, 3) in a close match, 21-18 19-21 21-16.

The Women’s Singles semi-finals were all-Australian affairs. Joy Lai justified her top seeding by outclassing Talia Saunders 21-14 21-13. Lai faces Hsuan-Yu Wendy Chen in the final. Chen upset No.2 seed Jennifer Tam 21-17 21-7.

Chen however fell in the Women’s Doubles semi-finals. Chen/Louisa Ma (Australia) came up short against top seeds Leanne Choo/Gronya Somerville 21-18 21-16. The Women’s Doubles final will also be an all-Australian affair, for facing Choo/Somerville will be Talia Saunders/Jennifer Tam.
